This story about a woman who wins ownership of the beloved bookshop of her youth is a beautifully written ode to readers everywhere. Hallie Winstone has to jump in the deep end at her new business, which is in the red and has a developer ready to pounce on it. But shes determined to save the shop and she has the help of illustrator Dimitri whos delightfully awkward and dreamy and just as much of a bibliophile as Hallie is. These two team up to reinvigorate the store by creating inviting window displays (look out for a mermaid appearance here!) and rearranging the shelves. While doing the latter, they come across several lovely and intriguing handwritten notes inside some of the second-hand merchandise. Compelled to find out more about the people who left these messages, Allie begins to share them online, which attracts the attention of book fans along with the media and even the inscribers themselves! With this newfound fame, will there be a happy ending for Once Upon a Page and Hallies budding romance with Dimitri, or will everything go wrong as it always does for poor, beleaguered Hallie? This book is a charming, heartfelt read I wont soon forget. I lost track of how many times I teared up when reading it because the characters were able to articulate how much books mean to them in ways that spoke to my soul. I recognized myself in Hallie and Dimitri, which made me root for them even harder. I highly recommend this book to bibliophiles and romantics everywhere. Curl up with a cup of tea and enjoy!

3.5 stars This is the ultimate feel-good book: about book lovers and book shops; romance; classics that have laid the foundation for a lifetime love of reading; giving and receiving books with expressions of love and longing – and mystery – inscribed within. Hallie wins a book shop in what is basically the first bit of good luck that has come her way in all her 35 years. We get to watch her come into her own, battling self-doubt and a shaky business sense, as well as a slick businessman whos only too happy to snatch the shop and new-found love away from her. Because shes destined to fail, right? Well see about that! Is this the perfect book? It is not. But the H and h are completely smashing, if at times a bit soppy. And most of the mysteries are pretty easily figured out. But who cares? Theres enough humor and warmth and genuine loveliness on every page to rekindle the most world-weary soul. Treat yourself! Im surely glad I did!!

Audiobook The Little Bookshop of Love Stories by Jaimie Admans
I felt like a quick easy read and this one foot the bill nicely. Set in a picturesque village in the Cotswolds which made a nice change. The h wins an old bookshop in a raffle. This couldn\’t come at a better time for her as she\’s recently been fired from yet another job because of her clumsiness. When she arrives she finds the place needing some serious reorganising in order to make it all work. There are conditions to her taking over the bookshop which include not ever selling it but making sure someone else like her takes it over. As she begins the journey to making it over, she meets the H, who is an artist and comes in to the shop every day to work on sketches inspired by an old book. Both characters are lovely and quirky and the development of the relationship is sweet. I\’m not a fan of misunderstandings as a plot device and there is one of those towards the end. Otherwise every book lover will appreciate all of the book references quoted in this story.

Audio The Little Bookshop of Love Stories narrated by Beth Chalmers
I loved this story. There\’s not much I can say except that it needs to be read. It will give you a warm feeling inside. My only complaint was that I wished the ending didn\’t stop where it did. I would have loved a \”couple of months later\” scene where everything was finally tied together and you could see the results of hard work. I\’d love a cameo of the two in another book.

Man, where do I start? This is such a lovely, lovely slow-burn romance. Hallie Winstone wins ownership of Once Upon a Page bookshop on the day she\’s fired from her umpteenth job. It\’s her dream job, even if she doesn\’t really know much about running a business. She gets some help from Dimitri, the quirky illustrator who uses the bookshop as his part-time studio. The shop is a combination of new and used books; Hallie discovers that many of the older books are inscribed which leads her and Dimitri into finding out the story behind the writings on the flyleafs. The romance is well-done; Hallie and Dimitri are perfect together though it takes quite a while for them to get there. They both have issues, especially Dimitri, they need to work through. Yet they balance each other and support each other in unique ways that frequently made this reader sigh and put a hand over my heart. I love slow-burn romances. The concept of finding the hidden stories of the book inscriptions was inspired. While not everything works out for Hallie\’s romantic nature, each little gem is lovely to read about. Think about it: if someone cares enough to inscribe a note inside one\’s book, there has to be a story behind it. This is truly a wonderful book and I can\’t recommend it highly enough for someone looking for a great love story to read.
