I was born around the time these murders took place. I remember my family talking about it in the early 80s and my dad explaining why he would not let me ride my bike into town alone and how awful things can happen as we lived near the area these things happened. This book sadly reveals how Lady Justice in not blind as we have been told and there are two different tiers of the justice system one is in place to protect those in high positions. As hard as this was to hear, the book was laid out and told so well, Witt great compassion for the victims families. There really is no such thing as closure but I think this book tells the truth about who did it. May God give grace and peace to families.

Some serious corruption! We must end Electoral College so the people who get put in office actually represent the popular votes and we get some honest, decent, respectable individuals who do not exclude the middle class and the poor and who are non racist people in office. So many government agencies are controlled by politically corrupt elite, especially in law enforcement!

Audiobook The Snow Killings: Inside the Oakland County Child Killer Investigation by Marney Rich Keenan

Disclosure: I was 14 when this nightmare was happening and living a stones throw from Oakland County. It was a very frightening time to be a kid – it was my first time knowing that evil existed and it could be around any corner. I was too young to know all the details, or even understand them had I known them, so this book filled in many many gaps in my knowledge. Narration: It was good, it took a little getting used to at first but after a chapter or two the narration was not a thing – the story took over everything. Yes the narrator mispronounces several cities – one frequently – but as I said after a couple chapters you just move on to concentrating on the story. Story: Wow! What a gripping whodunit told from a reporters point of view. I enjoyed all the angles, politics, and especially the backgrounds of the victims and the numerous suspects. What I didn\’t particularly care for was the way the \”story\” was laid out to the reader/listener. Wish she had laid out first the victims and the crimes in minute detail – then each suspect and how each of them tie back into one or more of the crime details and then hit with a conclusion. That would have been a lot easier to follow. That said, there were so many tangents as you follow the investigation (which was kinda cool actually cause you felt like a detective with the frustration of a detective) but there were so many things that seemed liked good witness accounts/leads that just never was sewn up by the author – I have so many more questions now that I have the details. It\’s going to drive me crazy. This story was all engrossing and I do recommend it as a very good account of the murder and the times. Nothing is perfect and this is no exception, like I said I didn\’t like how the author introduced intriguing things and then just left it hanging. But, I did like the personal detail of those involved – from the victims to the survivors, to the investigators and their bosses – it was just enough without bogging down the story.

Audio The Snow Killings: Inside the Oakland County Child Killer Investigation narrated by Carrington MacDuffie

The book was good. Besides the cringe worthy mispronunciations, the narrator was awesome. The book is PACKED with characters, so it was a little difficult to keep up with who was who, but I would recommend it, none the less.
