A SEPARATE PEACE AUDIOBOOK
Want to keep your mind occupied for the entire weekend then pick this book up and enter the era of World War II. Gene and Finny don’t start the story together rather it is Gene who comes back to the place where he used to live as a school boy and then he starts telling the audience about his past life.
The start makes one thing clear i.e Finny is not present in the world anymore because Gene starts visiting the old places after his return instead of going to his friend’s place. Finny and Gene were roommates during their school career but they had nothing in common.
A SEPARATE PEACE
Gene liked to study all the time while Finny was the type of boy who liked fun and other athletic stunts. Gene developed a grudge for Finny very quickly and then he tried to defeat his friend through grades. When none of that worked, Gene finally injured Finny and all of it looked like an accident so the boy was never held responsible. After some time the truth was revealed and this broke Finny’s heart.

On his return, Finny again slipped from the stairs and broke his leg once again. The two friends finally realized their errors and apologized to one another at once. John Knowles does not end the story at this point rather he makes it tragic by telling us that Finny died the next day during the operation. Scott Snively narrates the sad scenes equally well till the end when Gene is left alone. The story is bound to make anyone cry out loud who gives full time to it.
