This was my first Trisha Ashley book. It was a beautifully written story with unique and strong characters, amazing location and lots of surprises. I have since read 3 more Ashley books and enjoyed every one of them. She reminds me a little of Angela Thirkell, for those who have read those vintage novels, in that the same general location is used in each book and sometimes characters from one book meet those from another. It\’s a wonderful picture of the way life might be in a nicer world. In a chaotic world it\’s nice to relax with engaging characters and know that there will be a happy ending in each book.

The title and cover made this look so promising. I wanted to love it so much but it never quite took off for me. The story was interesting and made me want to keep reading, even though I sussed out a lot of details early on. I liked reading about the evolution of the various plot lines and it made me smile at the end. But I wish I could\’ve connected with the characters more. I felt like they wanted to escape and do more, BE more, but it was like they were being held back. Too much of the story was told to me instead of letting me experience it through their actions. I wanted more from them and for them but it just never happened.

Audiobook The Little Teashop of Lost and Found by Trisha Ashley
I read the Kindle version of this book. Alice was abandoned as a baby in the Yorkshire moors, and was lucky to have been found. While her adoptive father was a wonderful parent, after his death, she finds that her adoptive mother never really wanted her. So Alice makes her own way in the world, using her baking skills to take her from place to place. When a tragic accident takes the life of her fiance and an ugly past, she uses the life insurance money to start over, buying a cafe in a town near where she was found as a baby. The place is not in the condition that was advertised, but Alice perseveres, making friends who help her with the renovations, and also with her quest to potentially find out about her birth parents. Along the way to making her dreams a reality, she may even find love.

Audio The Little Teashop of Lost and Found narrated by Colleen Prendergast
Alice Rose was abandoned on the Yorkshire moors and adopted though she and her adopted mother don\’t have a good relationship. After an accident, she decides, in a moment of unusual whimsy, to buy a teashop in Haworth (home of the Brontes) sight unseen. Of course, the place is a wreck, but she decides to grit it out while at the same time trying to find out more about the mystery of her birth. Ms. Ashley is always good and when you add in Haworth, Bronte country, and mystery, I\’m hooked. It\’s a wonderful story, sometimes a little dark, but always interesting. Alice\’s crabby neighbor Nile is one of Ms. Ashley\’s trademark heroes; he and his family make for an entrancing addition to the story. All the characters, from the outspoken waitresses in the teashop to the Haworth villagers, are compelling, quirky, and fun. It\’s a terrific story, perfect for a cozy read.

I love the Little Teashop of Lost and Found! I never thought I would love one of Trisha Ashley\’s books more than The Twelve Days of Christmas, but the Little Teashop is now my other favorite book. I loved it so much I read it three times in one month. I love Ashley\’s Characters, the wit, the drama and the love. The romance that goes on in her books are fabulous. Nile is another great character to moon over. I love the recipes too!! Wish I could visit Alice\’s Teashop in person. I also love when other Characters from previous books show up in her new books. TrishaWorld is my favorite place to escape. Read this book, and share with your friends.
