Eva and Gideon had the same kind of past which means that the demons which they left behind were also the same. Now those demons are back and they want both of them. The couple can yield in front of the demons i.e to make their death easy but the two have some personal goals for which they want to live a free life. So they are not yielding in front of the demons instead they have decided to take on those demons that have kept on haunting them in the nightmares.

Together the two are strong and when they are separated they become stronger because the addiction of each other’s company just makes them real beasts. They think that they need one another for survival, it is like a thirsty person looking for water the way Gideon and Eva crave for each other.
Weakness is seen on this occasion, something which Sylvia Day didn’t introduce in the previous episodes. Both lovers are hiding certain secrets from one another and if those secrets are revealed then their love life will be threatened. Jill Redfield gives a guarded sound to the narration to keep the theme alive.

Thus it is always something new happening between these two characters as they march on towards their enemy. They want to get rid of all their enemies now after which a happy life would be waiting for them. If tables get turned then soon they would be under the sword of their enemy i.e waiting for the death sentence.
