In the sixth book of this series, DI Hillary Greene’s team investigate the murder of Florence Jenkins.
The main plot in this book is the murder of Flo Jenkins and investigation. Who would murder an old woman who was dying and why? There are several interesting subplots woven into the storyline…
I figured out the whodunnit and why in the main plot: I knew the why very early on and worked out the who pretty soon after. I still enjoyed reading the book it was well thought out and cleverly written. I enjoyed reading about the professional and personal lives of characters I feel like I know. There were intriguing twists and turns. I did not figure out the other stories that were woven into main plot, so there were still a few surprises in store.

Murder at Home audiobook in series DI Hillary Greene
A wonderful character-driven mystery led by Hillary Greene! I was sad to see Tommy leave the series but am very excited with the way that Kieth has been introduced. Faith Martin is so gifted with drawing the reader along, you feel like a you are truly a part of the investigation! Well-detailed characters that you care about and a great story with just the right number of sub-plots and twists and turns. At times it feels almost Hitchcock-like! High praise, I know, but well-deserved!

Audiobook Murder at Home by Faith Martin
Wonderful series! So glad I discovered Faith Martins Hillary Greene series. Ive read 8 so far, and can’t wait to read the rest.
Rather than commenting on each book individually, Ill just say that its a great collection of police procedurals, set in Oxfordshire. They’re not at all cosy, but theres no superfluous gore, either.
We meet intriguing people, glimpse gleaming spires, picturesque landscapes and down-at-heel housing estates, and find ourselves bouncing along with Hillary in her Tragic Wagon in search of villains and the answers to more personal mysteries.

Audio Murder at Home narrated by Gemma Dawson
I enjoyed this mystery. I guessed the reason for the murder fairly early in the book and was fairly certain of the murderer, but not positive until the end. It is well written with well- developed characters. It has a couple of side stories involving these individuals but they don’t distract from the main story line.
I look forward to reading more books in this series.
I would recommend it to readers who like mystery novels which are on the lighter side as opposed to really deep psychological ones.

This is an excellent body of work. The author strikes the perfect balance between police procedure/mystery and personal life progress of characters. Old story lines are wrapped up and new people enter very well.
Her references to past storylines is enough for new readers yet not too much for established readers. Bravo, Me Martin.
