One Man pulled me in from the very first chapter and didn’t let go until one heckuva “oh no you did NOT leave me hanging like that” moment!
Jax North is man on a mission, and that mission is seeking revenge on the Knight family for the role he believes they played in his brother Hunter’s death. And the woman in his crosshairs as a tool for his purpose is Emma Knight, the heiress to the Knight hotel empire. Or is she?
Everyone has secrets and a hidden agenda, and Jax and Emma both keep asking themselves who they can trust. Despite the burning attraction and sizzling chemistry between them, neither is sure if they should be enemies or allies. Jax finds himself unwillingly drawn to this woman who is an unexpected mix of strength and vulnerability. Emma has been betrayed and brutalized in various ways by the men in her life for years, so trusting an alpha male with an agenda is not easy – particularly when the most sadistic bastard of them all, her ex-fiance York, shows up again with the intent to intimidate and control her. Before they realize it, Jax and Emma have moved beyond convenient sex to something deeper; now they just have to figure out how to hold onto it and whether their remaining secrets should be revealed.
At times I felt like I was watching a ping-pong match with the constant back and forth volleys of accusations and protestations. When Jax hires Walker Security to help him sort out the increasingly convoluted mess of players on the board, Savage’s warnings against trusting Emma completely don’t help his state of mind either. I loved how Emma came out swinging to put him in his place though!
All in all, One Man was a great read despite that WTF moment at the end. The only minor drawback for me was that the storyline and character reactions all felt a little too familiar to me. My mind kept going back to previous books I have read by the author at too many spots in the story thinking “oh that’s just like what happened in…” or “jeez she sounds just like ….”. That won’t stop me from coming back for more though because now I am invested in these characters and I definitely need to see how it all plays out!

One Man by Lisa Renee Jones is the first book in her brand new Naked trilogy . Told in dual POV between Emma and Jax, this story is sexy, dangerous and has a heck of a cliffhanger ending. I have long been a fan of this author, ever since I first read If I Were You back in 2013. Her books are always sexy, always have an underlying mystery and always ALWAYS completely suck me into the story.
Emma keeps herself separate and doesn’t make herself available. Sex? Sure! Feelings? No way! But when her determination to move on from Jax does nothing more than increase his interest she feels her walls crumbling right along with her resolve.
Jax has one mission – find out what happened with his brother. He will do that whatever the cost. But with Emma in the picture and the two of them getting closer he may not be able to do whatever it takes. The cost, finally, may be too high.
Loved this – prepare for the cliffhanger but fear not, book two, One Woman, should be out in September 2019 and book three,Two Together, soon after in November 2019. Enjoy!

Audiobook One Man (Naked Trilogy #1) by Lisa Renee Jones
I don’t know what all the 5 star reviews saw in this book. When a book grabs me, even if it is not at the first, I have a hard time putting it down. This one was easy to put down as it moved so slowly. I reached 60% and then asked myself if I cared anything about the two characters. The answer was a big NO! I then skipped chapters to see what happened and that wasn’t much by the big cliffhanger. I will not be ordering the other two books.

Audio One Man (Naked Trilogy #1) narrated by Erin Mallon Jason Clarke
Jax North is trying to find out what happened to his brother and just how Emma Knight is involved too. He thinks she has something to do with his death and wants to make the whole Knight family pay. When he meets Emma, their attraction is off the charts and he wants to learn all of her secrets.
Emma Knight has lost her father and is learning he is not the man she thought he was. By finding his journal and learning his secrets, she must keep them a secret from those out to hurt her family.
Can she trust Jax to help her understand what her father was up to? Will they learn what happened to his brother? Will they learn if her brother was involved too? Can Walker Security help them uncover the secrets they need to know but may not want to hear?
I love the attraction between Jax and Emma and can’t wait to see what happens in book 2 because that was a cliff hanger. I love everything about it, so sit back and enjoy the roller coast ride that is Lisa Renee Jones writing style.

First of all, it occurred to me almost to the end that this book takes place over a period of 4 days, if I counted correctly. 4 days much more eventful than my 30 years of life! Each moment pleasurable to read (except for the very unpleasant York) and not one time I thought to myself it was too much or too unrealistic in any way.
Jax is adorable in the manliest of ways and so Emma, in a sweet, open-minded and many times, fun way. Their personalities coupled with love, hate, revenge, vulnerability, secrets, unacceptable truths, etc… So many layers but so well put together.
The other thing I really loved was the frank honesty of both main characters. I’ve read many of these types of stories (rich people problems as I call them) in which the characters build relationships with dishonesty and lies. It was so refreshing to move forward along with the characters as they both laid their cards on the table and moved forward together.
I’m a bit disappointed that I have to wait until September for the 2nd of the trilogy but on the bright side it means that I can re-read this one and fall in love again and again.
On another note: Yes, Hunter please!!! <can’t wait>
Kudos to Lisa!
