Wonderfully bleak and awful story with an atmosphere like McCarthy\’s The Road, but with alien-mutants. The story kept my attention throughout, which is rare. I do hope Rich Hawkins plans to re-release the remaining books in this series for Audible / Kindle (The Last Outpost and The Last Soldier).
