I have read several of Ms. Blakely’s books, and remembered why I enjoy reading her world. Warm, funny, witty, sometimes irreverent, and filled with likable characters – every book in this series just delivers.
And, what a joy to read such well edited books! Another note – while told from a first person POV, it is not a continual stream of “I did…” or “I said…”. There is story, detail, thought, opinion, feeling, and description in refreshing variety.
For our enjoyment we have…
Big Rock (#1) – Spencer & Charlotte
Friends since college, Spencer and Charlotte run a successful business in Manhattan. They date other people, have each other’s back, and generally have a good life. Then, a common ruse takes on a life of it’s own. On occasion, Spencer or Charlotte will claim to be the other’s fiance, helping each other out of unwanted attention or sticky situations. Spencer finds himself in one such situation and blurts out that Charlotte is his newly minted fiancee. Charlotte is about to decline when an unfortunate run-in with her persistent ex changes her mind. Now, they are pretending for all the world while trying to remember that they are indeed pretending. Except, maybe they aren’t?
Mister O (#2) Nick & Harper
Nick and Harper have been friends forever. They know each other because Harper is Spencer’s little sister, and Nick is best friends with Spencer. Nick is the creative mind behind a late night animated show – the infamous and most generous Mister O. Harper is a magician – tearing up the child’s birthday party scene. Neither has much time for the dating scene, but Harper is looking to find love and happiness. To achieve this end, she asks Nick to help her learn to communicate, flirt with, and otherwise establish a dating relationship. Nick agrees, and they agree to limit their efforts to the time Spencer is away on his honeymoon. Because Big Brother. Anyway, lessons commence. Nick realizes he really doesn’t want Harper taking what he is teaching her out into the dating world. But, there is a time limit. Spencer is coming back. And the issues Harper wants to correct don’t seem to apply to him. Does that mean she doesn’t see him like he sees her? And what happens when a twist with he work gets thrown into the mix?
Well Hung (#3) Wyatt & Natalie
Wyatt is Nick’s twin. Natalie is Charlotte’s sister. She lives with Nick and Wyatt’s sister Josie, who took over Charlotte’s apartment when she moved in with Spencer. Got it? Good. Wyatt and Natalie met at Spencer and Charlotte’s wedding, where Natalie approached Wyatt and asked for a job. So now, Natalie is Wyatt’s PA, organizer, and all around business manager. A trip to Vegas ends with the full Vegas experience. You know – a few drinks too many, fun in many forms, and of course, a trip to a little wedding chapel. ‘Cause Vegas baby! With the morning light comes the realization that what happened in Vegas should also stay in Vegas. A trip to Easy Out Divorce and a flight home and all is right with the world. Right? Not. Easy Out turned out to not be so easy. And once certain doors are opened, they aren’t so easily closed. And feelings. Well, once that can of worms is opened, there is really no putting the lid back on. So, how is Wyatt going to navigate this when he has been so badly burned before? Does he take a chance? Or, does he take the way out?
Full Package (#4) Chase & Josie
Chase is Wyatt’s best friend, and recently returned from serving a year with Doctors Without Borders. Josie, as previously established, is Wyatt and Nick’s little sister. Guess what? Chase and Josie have been friends forever. Chase is having terrible trouble finding a new place to live. Josie is having terrible trouble finding a roommate to replace the happily wedded Natalie. A conversation leads to a light bulb moment which leads to Chase moving into Josie’s extra room. You see where this is going? Except Chase went down the friends to lovers road before and not only lost the lover, but also the friend. Not a road he wants to revisit. Josie agrees to a friends with benefits arrangement, with an undetermined end date. Are they really sure they want an end date? And when they pull the plug, will they be able to go back to the same friendship they had? Or will they both really need more?
Three out of four of these couples started out as long term friends. They knew tons about each other – likes, dislikes, quirks, and charms. Everyone was likable. And while they path was a bit rocky, it wasn’t tragic or angsty or filled with danger. Just people going through emotions, friendships, and finding love. Light, fun, witty, and well written. What more could you ask for? Enjoy!!

review for “Big rock” (#1) -> 5 stars
This is the first installment in a series of six companion novels 🙂 as in, all of them work perfectly well as standalones, but there are all sorts of different connections between characters in all of them, like heroine from one book is the sister of a hero from another and so on 🙂 my sister originally read all of the books first… or should I say inhaled to be more precise… 😉 and she so highly recommended it to me, that I decided to give them a try sooner than later 🙂 and I have to say that I agree with all her praises, because this particular novel is just the start and I am already in love 🙂 so let me tell you a bit more about our main couple and what the story is about 🙂
Spencer and Charlotte have been friends for quite a few years… and business partners for some of them as well 🙂 currently they own a few bars in New York and their friendship is going on strong as well 🙂 everything gets more complicated when Spencer and his big mouth puts him in a peculiar position… 🙂 because you see… his dad wants to sell his business… a high end jewelry store, and the investor is very conservative… and probably wouldn’t look to kindly on Spencer and his playboy-ish ways… even though there’s nothing wrong with them, since he’s not misleading anyone, but you know… so Spencer being Spencer, announces unexpectedly that he and Charlotte are engaged… you know, since they usually help each other in tricky situations in bars when one of them needs an excuse to brush someone off… 😉 Charlotte has reasons of her own to agree to this little charade, and no, that reason is not the love for Spencer 🙂 I don’t really want to get into too many details about the whole story, because I don’t want to spoil you anything 😉 long story short, they agree to pretend for a week or so, until the deal is done… of course the situation turns out to be much more complicated than they both anticipated at the beginning… 🙂 now that we have this little explanation out of the way, let me tell you about all the reasons why I love this book 🙂
The whole novel is written from the hero’s perspective, which is actually quite unusual… 🙂 or maybe I just haven’t read many books like that 🙂 it’s definitely a different way of telling a story and I loved it… especially since I actually listened to the audiobook and let me tell you… *sighs dreamily* Sebastian York and his gravelly voice is pure perfection… I may or may not have done a search on Audible based on his name and added a whole bunch of books on my list based on him being the narrator of the story alone 😉 but the whole writing style is amazing in this novel 🙂 even though we don’t get Charlotte’s perspective, I fell in love and connected with her as much as with Spencer… what is even better, this is a story with basically no angst or unnecessary drama… don’t you just love when adults act like actual adults and talk with each other to resolve certain issues? 🙂 so not only our main couple is amazing, we have a few very interesting secondary characters as well… like Harper, Spencer’s sister 🙂 I can’t wait to read her story in the second installment of this series… especially since we may or may not got to know the hero of said story in this book as well… 😉 all in all I highly recommend you this absolutely hilarious and sizzlingly hot contemporary romance… it has it all… laughs, romance, amazing chemistry between the main couple, phenomenally entertaining writing style with a beautiful epilogue as a cherry on top 🙂 if you haven’t already, definitely give it a try 🙂
review for “Mister O” (#2) -> 4,5 stars
This is the second story in Lauren Blakely’s Big rock series… each book in it concentrates on a different couple, and even though they are connected through some of the characters, they can be read as standalones without any previous knowledge 😉 you always get enough explanations to follow the story you are reading, although if you do read them in order, the little scenes that include people you already know will have that much more meaning 🙂 but from the perspective of someone who read her books both ways, it really is a matter of personal preferences… you will love her stories either way 🙂 so let’s jump into all the details about this particular one 🙂
Both Nick and Harper have connections to Spencer, the hero of the first book in this series: Harper is his younger sister and Nick his best friend 🙂 but like I mentioned before, just because we have these connections, doesn’t mean that you have to read the previous book to read this one 🙂 so no worries if you read it and don’t remember a lot, or if this will be your first lauren Blakely book 🙂 but back to our main couple 🙂 Harper is a magician… I know, it sounds so cool 🙂 she does mostly kids parties, but absolutely loves it 🙂 Nick is the creator of an adult animated show… 🙂 they’ve been friends for some time now, but it wasn’t until recently when Nick developed… some other feelings towards her 😉 which is just such bad timing, cause Harper is actually crushing on someone else… which is unfortunate, cause she’s terrible at flirting and… basically regular human interactions with a guy she’s interested in… 🙂 it’s hilarious the first time we see it… I can relate to that so much… 😉 so naturally Nick offers to help her overcome that 🙂 and the rest is… history 😉 oh come on you guys, I can’t tell you how exactly their interactions change and when does it happen 🙂 just know that it’s not a love triangle type of situations and then enjoy the story 🙂
This was a 4,5 stars story for me 🙂 there may have been some small things that prevented me from enjoying this book as much as some of her other ones, but it was still a great read 🙂 my reading experience is always influenced by my personal preferences, that’s why I still feel confident to recommend you this great book… 🙂 and if you have a chance, I definitely advice you to listen to the audiobook version 🙂 the whole book is written from Nick’s perspective, and the narrator… the very talented Sebastian York, will absolutely melt you… *sighs dreamily* 🙂 I listened to it and loved every minute of it 🙂 the story itself is once again a very entertaining one… I truly love Lauren Blakely’s writing style… each book of hers I read so far was great 🙂 no stupid or unnecessary drama / angst… adults acting like adults and talking with each other instead of slamming doors and ignoring each other for months… 🙂 she creates complex and real characters, that you can’t help but fall in love with… and I’m not talking only about the main couple… in each book we have a bunch of secondary characters that will make you read the synopsis of her other stories to check if maybe they already have their own books… and yes, in a lot of cases it’s true 🙂 I already made a little detour for her One love series 🙂 I can’t help it, I want to read all the books at once 🙂 she definitely becomes one of my go to authors when I am looking for a fun and sexy romance that will put the biggest smile on my face 🙂 so if you are in need for that kind of a story, definitely give her a try… 🙂 pick this one up, or one of her other books, and enjoy your day 🙂

Audiobook Bigger Rock (Big Rock #1-4) by Lauren Blakely
This anthology is a great place to start with Lauren Blakely. The Big Rock universe extends beyond thess 4 stories, and I love that she has created a whole interwoven universe. Each book can be read as a stand-alone, but I just love reading them all so we can revisit old friends.
Big Rock, Spencer and Charlotte, kicks off the anthology with a classic friends-to-lovers that is so smoking hot and fun.
Mister O is best friends little sister, and let me just say that they are such a quirky, incredible couple. Swoon.
Well Hung is boss-assistant, but also someones sister, and it made me want to go to Vegas!
and Full Package is roommates/best friends.
Classic tropes + Lauren Blakelys wit and writing style = a big hit.
I have also listened to all 4 of these as audiobooks, and they are what got me hooked on audiobooks. Audio succeeds or failes on the narration, and these are top quality audiobooks for sure.

Audio Bigger Rock (Big Rock #1-4) narrated by Sebastian York
I hadnt read Full Package yet and decided to buy this package deal from Lauren Blakely. I had already read the first three books in the series but I thoroughly enjoyed reading all four books together. I love the characters in this book. Each couple is connected by family or friendship. They support each other emotionally and are always there for each other. I like that these couples have quirks and they embrace them. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but this is an amazing value so I would suggest you purchase this bundle and enjoy all four awesome stories!
