A Very British Lord audiobook free
I’ve read all 3 books of the series but you will not be lost if starting with this one.
There are some editing issues, but not enough that I had to reread sentences.
I enjoyed the honor of the H and how he was loyal to friends and a caring Earl. The h I enjoyed her spirit and forthrightness, but she does something when she discovers she is married that was frustrating. What I enjoyed was her being honest and discussing situations. That changed and she tells the H he doesn’t need to sleep with her anymore because she is with child – WHAT?!?!!? She doesn’t come out and ask him if he is having an affair, which he isn’t.
He stays away from her for over 6 months – why? It is less than a days ride to London why not try and make his marriage work? Those were my frustrating issues. Don’t enjoy stories because of lack of communication, which this had in spades.
No cheating, no cliffhanger, a short epilogue a few years in the future, HEA and little on romance. Lovemaking within marriage, heat level 3.5 out of 5. (ljb)

This would have another star if it weren’t for the poor editing. The story is great, but the proofreading left something to be desired, mispelled words or the wrong homophone used, small things like that which can be distracting.

Audiobook A Very British Lord by G. L. Snodgrass
I have read all three books in the Stafford Sisters series. Of the three A Very British Lord was my least favorite. As a whole, the story was okay and it did have a few plot twists. However, I’m not a fan of too much internal dialogue. I preferred the verbal communications between Isobel and James, even though she was a bit too snarky. I get that she is 19, but he is older and should know better. He seemed just as immature as she. Thankfully, even after some very tedious sections, the ending was sweet and the epilogue even sweeter.
Overall, this was just an okay read.
Content 411: Although there are no hard-core vulgarities, there are some moderately described sexually intimate scenes.

Audio A Very British Lord narrated by Diana Lyon
This could be an okay book but it needs editing. Spell check/ fact check is really needed. Im not sure why the main character wears a shrubbery under her dress. Would seem rather scratchy to me. The plot is basically a ripoff of other Regency romances but i guess that predictability is why people read them.

The story and characters are weak. The pace slow. But the editing is a disgrace. Punctuation just thrown in wherever, then the pronouns are not used or wrong gender in many cases. I did not complete the book, and suggest you find another. This is a waste of time.
