Two girls were buried in the basement of a private house, under the concrete floor. Construction guys discovered the bodies during the removal of the basement slabs. They were wrapped in plastic and it looks like they’ve been there a long time. Lucas Davenport knows exactly how long.
In 1985, Lucas Davenport was a young cop and had originally handled the Jones case, the girls’ disappearance. It was a big case at the time. His bosses eventually declared the case closed, but he never agreed with that. The killer was free to kidnap and murder kids. Now Davenport worked for the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, with close relations with the governor and now he can set his conscience right and investigate it all over again. The truth had been buried.
This is a fast paced crime thriller, a real enjoyment to read. Through flashbacks,the reader gets to see a young Davenport making his way through a crime, going from the streets to detective and working the streets to tracks down a killer that had gotten away. The action is constant, the plot and story moving, the pages just kept turning. If you enjoy reading crime thrillers…this one is for you.

Audiobook Buried Prey by John Sandford
Always an enjoyable read, this one very current with the DNA cousins concept. Now police forces are learning to do this themselves.
I wanted to know why the box was at the very bottom of the weekly dumpster, and they missed that clue? Or did I miss it? If it was placed the day before it should have been nearer the surface.
