Overwhelmed by You (Tear Asunder #2) audiobook free
I usually don’t like “rock star” heroes and I abhor the man-whore hero; so put them together and the only reason I read the book was because I was sort of hooked in having already read Tear Asunder Book 1. Imagine my surprise when Ream was one of my favorite characters. He was not at all your typical man-whore. He was severely traumatized and I felt really bad for the guy.
Kat, the heroine I did not like much at all. Especially in the beginning where she came off as completely self absorbed, self important and unreasonable. The conflict starts when Kat and Ream have a “big misunderstanding”. Ream freaks…and OK…acts like a crazy person. But he comes back a few days later and explains that he just needed to process things and this is the point where any normal person would have realized that something was up and do the whole “Hey, noticed you really over reacted and I’m wondering….did anything BAD ever happen to you?” But not Kat. She just tells him she doesn’t do “second chances”, his loss, don’t really care what kind of trauma you may or may not have had because, well this is all about me…so shove off and let me stick my tongue down this random guy’s throat in front of you so you get the message. I really thought she was a raving witch with a “b”.
At about 50% on my kindle edition Kat started talking about her other issues and it made her emotional reactions make more sense, and I did start to develop some empathy towards her. (But in my defense none of this came out until about 50%, up until that point she was spouting her “second chance” philosophy like a spoiled 5 year old).
I also felt this was the point at which the story seemed to drag and I honestly considered briefly not finishing because I was bored. There was ALLOT of back and forth on Kat’s side “I want you, I don’t want you, I’m afraid, I want something else, my body wants you, I don’t know what I want”. I felt so bad for Ream, all his issues and he finally commits and THIS is what he gets????? He spent all his time being supportive of Kat and her issues and she barely even asked about his. No wait…I don’t think she asked at all. She’d notice something was off…but she never asked or encouraged him to talk in a genuinely interested, loving and supportive manner. Oh well, that would be expecting allot from her because she has her own issues.
Then at 70% the action picks up and things get a little crazy. Ream’s past comes back to bite him on the butt before everything is neatly tied up in a happily ever after. I’m still interested in reading Crisis’s story and I like the character of Haven. I didn’t particularly like the path taken with Georgie’s character and think I will likely pass on her story. (My eccentrically wild and crazy free spirited Georgie is apparently all talk and no action which makes her more pathetic than anything). Overall, I was kind of underwhelmed by Overwhelmed.

Overwhelmed By You is book 2 in the Tear Asunder series. I had previously read With You (prequel to book 1) and Torn From You (book 1) in January last year. I could remember bits and pieces from the first two books, like how tragic and shocking the events seemed to be, but that book 1 ultimately ends with a HEA so I thought Id give book 2 a go.
At the end of book 1, we were given a quick glimpse of Kat and Ream and the hatred they felt for one another. It was enough to leave me curious as to how their story started and how it was going to end.
Overwhelmed By You left me felling a little, well, overwhelmed. I get that not every book can be about roses and rainbows, but not every book in a series has to be so dark and twisted either. I mean, how much trauma can one group of people go through? It seems that everyone has a devastating and tragic story, whether it be a past or current event.
Logan (from the previous books) is really not very likeable. Theres dominant and then theres just plain rude and brutish. And it seems Ream is cut from the same cloth. He bulldozes all over Kat, and while she tries to fight back, she doesnt really want to so of course he gets his way with everything. He demands everything from her but never really gives all of himself to her in return, until its too late and her trust is shattered.
Overall, I found some events in this book a bit unrealistic. I know its fiction, but I think when youre writing something that has dark and disturbing elements, it really needs to be believable. Reams reaction to Kats secret was weird, but then if he didnt have such a poor reaction to it there would never have been any conflict for the pair to resolve. They fought and said hateful things to each other for 2 years and then suddenly he decides shes the one and starts to repair their broken relationship. When Kats in danger, instead of calling the cops or taking any backup, Ream proves his love to Kat by offering himself up as the sacrificial lamb in exchange for her safety. The danger to Kat comes in the form of someone from Reams deeply traumatic past whos re-entered his life, yet he doesnt recognise them. And their saviour??? While it was a shocking twist I so didnt see coming, it was the straw that broke my camels back.
I respect Nashoda for having the guts to tackle very sensitive issues. And while I didnt like it, her series has hundreds of 4 and 5 star ratings on Goodreads and Amazon. Sadly, I dont think Ill be proceeding with any further books regarding these characters. Theres only so much drama I can take, and I think Ive hit my limit.

Audiobook Overwhelmed by You (Tear Asunder #2) by Nashoda Rose
Technically this a reread of this book since I read it well before I discovered Goodreads and even knew the importance of reviewing. In fact I’m rereading the entire series and it’s bringing all those feelings back. The angst, the suspense.
Overwhelmed by You starts off as a love/hate relationship, one that we got a glimpse of in Torn From You. Ream and Kat have an explosive relationship, the sexual tension is palpable. It was clear that these two have something between them but there’s something preventing either of them from acting on those feelings. Instead they seem to love to bite each other’s heads off whenever they are in close vicinity. It’s one of those back and forth relationships that would certainly make your head spin.
Now let’s talk about Ream. Gawd dayummmmm !!!!! His intensity is hawt and if you like Alpha’s well he fits the bill and then some. His past is a mystery for the most part but it’s clear that he’s gone through some heavy and ugly things.
Man this is one of those series that I will always reach for when I’m in a book slump. If you are a fan of love/hate full of suspense with some dark themes then I definitely suggest this series.

Holy crap! Another amazing read from Nashoda Rose!
Overwhelmed By You is the story of Ream and Kat, which is introduced in book 1, Torn From You. In the last book we are fed tid-bits of a story emerging between the two but it’s all very mysterious so I was dying to know what went on between the two and could not wait to get into their heads.
It is obvious in book 1 that something occurred between the two and for whatever reason they are now not on speaking terms. In this book the guys from Tear Assunder return from eight months away on tour and Kat is expecting more of the same attitude from Ream, constant arguments and hurting each other, but Ream returns with a determination to put things right between the two. It seems his time away was needed to get his head on straight but Kat feels she can no longer trust him and she is still reeling over the horrible and hurtful things they have said to each other. However Ream is relentless in his pursuit, and so begins another game of cat and mouse…
A lot of questions are answered in this book, we get to know Kat a lot better and boy does that girl have her share of secrets from her friends. These are nothing compared to Ream’s though, there is a darkness in that man that you just know, when it is revealed it will break your heart.
I adore this series and the group of people it revolves around. I can’t wait to read Perfect Chaos, the first book in the spin-off series Unyielding, I just know Georgie and Deck’s story will be explosive, it will be very entertaining to see the stoic Deck attempt to reign in the very wild Georgie!

I give this book 5 stars!! I’d give more if I could. This is third book of Nashoda’s that I’ve read, and I love them. This is technically the 3rd book in the Tear Asunder series. Ream and Kat’s story. I loved that at the beginning of some chapter’s, there was a dialogue written in italics. It gave a teaser as to where the story was coming from. It made me keep turning the pages. The characters were completely believable. I had so much empathy with Kat, having a debilitating disease myself. It was a brave choice, I commend Nashoda for writing Kat’s internal war with so much sympathy and dignity. I feel Nashoda was talking from experience. I love dark romance, and this ticked all the boxes for me. I’m a massive Pepper Winters fan, and Nashoda’s books are just as good. If you like your leading men strong, but broken inside, but will lay down their lives for the people they love. And your leading lady with an inner strength she didn’t know she had, then this SERIES, not just this book, is for you. It also helps that there’s a team of sassy, sexy, brave and funny co stars, 2 legged and 4 legged!! Most of which Nashoda’s been kind enough to give them their own story. This lady is now in my top 5 authors!
