I truly enjoyed the first two books in this series. I was looking forward to this one. I couldn’t wait to jump in and get Eve and Reid’s story.
I’m going to keep this one quick and direct.
I thought I had a bit of connection with Reid and Eve since I read the first two books. However, they didn’t feel like the same characters I met in the other books. Maybe that’s because this one focused solely on them.
This book didn’t feel like it was part of this series. It took turns that I hadn’t expected or much loved. This book was more of a sex crazed book. It was more about them wanting to bang every chance they got versus a budding relationship.
Overall, the book was good. I just didn’t enjoy it as much as I enjoyed the others. I am still looking forward to the final book in this series.

First off, I love Meghan Quinn! Second, I had/have a book hangover from staying up way too late.(I dont regret it) I could not put this book down. I kept telling myself, just one more chapter!! I have adored the Knightlys but I have to say, Reid has been my favorite!! He was such a sweet, underestimated, caring guy who would do just about anything for those he loved!!
Reid reluctantly moved back to his home town and was trying to make ends meet. His life had taken a turn he was not expecting. The only bright thing in his life was Eve. She was (still is) his crush, but trying anything would go against his best friend, her twin brothers, wishes. But the more time he was around her, the harder it was to ignore!
Eve was trying to make something of herself. Getting her college degree was taking longer than she wanted but it was within reach. But when Reid crossed the friendship line, would the stars align for them or would everything she worked for be taken away?
So good!! Eve and Reid were magic together!! I have loved Meghans style since day one. Her characters are always sweet, sexy, and drool worthy! The humor she sprinkled throughout this book was perfect! I laughed, I cried, I swooned!! What else could I have asked for??

Reid has had a crush on Eve since they were kids. He never acted on that crush because her twin brother Eric, was Reids best friend. Fast forward to now, and Reid and Eric arent such good friends anymore. Their restaurant venture failed, and Reid is living back in Port Snow while Eric stayed in Boston. Reid has tried for so long to ignore his crush on Eve, but one night changes everything.
Eve has also had a crush on Reid since they were kids. She too, never acted on that crush for obvious reasons. They have a great friendship, but when Reid is there for Eve on a day that is tough for her every year, lines get blurred and there is no stopping what is happening between them. They were friends first; can they keep that friendship intact?
First and foremost let me just say, Meghan Quinn is gold. Every book she writes makes me feel every type of emotion and this book is no different. From the start I was laughing, parts had me crying, you name it I felt it. Reid and Eves friendship was so important to both of them, and you could feel that. Were there times when I wanted to jump through the book and punch Reid in the face? Absolutely, but watching him become who he was meant to be was inspiring. Also, I cant get enough of the entire Knightly family. Seriously, the group chats had me laughing out loud, and baby Brig, that boy needs his own happily ever after. Loved this book, and cant wait for the next one!

Audio That Secret Crush (Getting Lucky #3) narrated by Reese Covington William LeRoy
So this was one of my Quarantine purchases. Partly because I hadnt had the chance to read it early because I think it came out in the midst of the second wave of the SmartyPants Romance book launches. But I knew I had to read it, and I needed to read it before the next book comes out in case I got the chance to read that early. I loved Reid. I really want a funny guy like him, or like Jason in Quinns baseball series. She writes the best funny guys. But he got a little irritating when he kept holding out. Now, I think that Eve was a little overboard in how she reacted to why he tried to stop to save his friendship, but then again, isnt that what the drama in a romance is always about? In the end I loved this as much as all the others in the series. And the text conversations between all the family members is some of the funniest stuff Ive ever read. Also, I cant wait for Brigs book even more after this. Oh yeah, and that baked beans sandwich, well except for the apple part, sounded DELICIOUS! Who will make me one?

You need to pick up That Secret Crush. It is a phenomenal read that is filled with laughter, family, childhood crushes and fixing friendships. If you have read any of the Getting Lucky books then you are familiar with the Knightly men. This is Reid’s book. You will just love it too. I love how he works hard trying to figure out who he is throughout this one. You feel for him and Eric with what happened with their friendship. Reid is that mystery brother that you can’t wait to unravel and you will not be disappointed but you may be frustrated at times….just saying. The friendship with Eve and Reid is amazing. I love their banter and the support Reid gives her when she really needs it. The chemistry is amazing. But you feel for them when the issue of Eve being that childhood best friend sister. Watching the ups and downs Reid, Eve and even Eric go through all together just pulls at your heart. I couldn’t put this one down. I love Eve and Reid together. I for one cannot wait for Brig’s book to come. Go one click this today.
